Here’s a little secret: if you really want your fish to be fresh, don’t cut it until just before you cook it. That’s what we mean by “freshness cut to order”. It was our policy on Day One, and it still is today. But it’s only one of the things that sets us apart from other fish restaurants.

At The Sole Proprietor, we specialize in top-quality, locally sourced seafood such as haddock, scallops, swordfish, tuna and bluefish. Then we prepare it using our special recipes. You’ll find all the classics here as well as seasonal dishes and up-to-the-moment inspirations. And you’ll find many choices beyond fish, including local artisan cheeses, meat and produce prepared in a range of delightful ways.
